If you celebrated, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday for the 4th! I had a fantastic time! Now...I had thought that I'd write something else this month other than the ongoing saga of my wonderful, "fairy tale come true" love and marriage, but I'm so enthralled with the wonder of it all that I thought I'd share with you (once again), what a joy it is to bask in the gift of true love. And let me tell y'all, I've been doing a lot of basking! ~lol~ So much so, that when I post my daily thoughts on yahoo connections about what's on my mind, "basking" it irked one of my "friends" so much that he wrote me a comment and told me that I shouldn't be bragging so much on a relationship that may not last. Wow! I couldn't believe the negativity coming from his comment! And yes, you guessed it; fortunately, ~lol~ he was one of those whom I'd rejected as a possible mate. Talk about sour grapes! Jealousy is still alive and well, even coming from the internet, and this display of "hating” reinforced my decision that it was a good thing that I hadn't gotten involved in a romantic relationship with this person. Haters hate it when they see someone happy and being in love. And "In Love" is exactly where I am! ~smiling happily~.............more detail

I know that we've all settled for less than our heart’s desire at one point or another in life and when it didn't work out we found ourselves wondering why. Well there shouldn’t have been any reason to wonder why the relationship fell apart. Because when it comes to having true and everlasting love in our lives, we should never settle for less. It was a hard lesson that I had to learn the hard way. And so this time I made sure that my love was given to the man whose heart beats in perfect unison with mine. Nephrologist Martin Pollak and his team found that a common genetic mutation of the APOL1 gene might be partly responsible for African Americans' susceptibility.
The mutation likely arose due to natural selection because it protects against African sleeping sickness, Pollak wrote. Yet it also makes African Americans more vulnerable to kidney disease, according to the study released last month in the online issue of Science Magazine.
