| I Didn't Know He Was Married |
I frequent a gossip website everyday during lunch to keep up with the latest gossip and pass the time. I ran across an interesting post from a woman who's dating a married man and asked for advice. This really hit home because I am a champion of integrity and fidelity. Please find her posting below in blue and my response..............more detail

While listening to music on my I-Pod the other day, I heard a song I hadn’t heard in a while. It featured a disc jockey I had a long admiration for during the early seventies when I was trying to navigate my way in radio here in Los Angeles. He penned a tune with the assistance of vibe master and jazz artist, Roy Ayers. The tune called Remember to Remember calls for the perpetual reflection of the legacies of great black men and women who made great contributions in every facet of American and worldwide institutions. .............more detail

Before I get into my groove thing about music from the old school and how it delved into the depths of love and the process of building relationships or destroying them, I want to take this time to offer my deepest congratulations to my daughter Quiannette on her recent engagement to Steven James. I pray that through God’s unyielding hands that they drape both of them in love, honor and trust. These requirements are only a few that are needed to hang tough when it gets tough. .............more detail

Most of you aren’t old enough to remember the stereo consoles that included the television screen in the center while the record player was on the top. As a child, I’d put my 45’s on the spindle or the adapter to drop the record after one ended..............more detail

A funny thing happened as I was listening to my I-pod yesterday as I was driving in the rain from the doctor’s office, when a song came on by the late ZZ Hill, the formidable blues singer. He cried out, “don’t make me pay for his mistakes baby, he’s the one that gave you six babies, I’m the one who’s going to give them a home.” This is classic soul at its best….............more detail

Sometimes in life in human relationships, we want some things we cannot have, or should not have;we want someone whom we cannot have, or should not have. But in this beautiful life we have,we challenge the human needs; and wants become needs;or is it needy?
Does that mean you should leave it alone, or challenge that want or need, just because it’s what youwant or need, forsakingall others? You dare to love, to be loved,to give love. How do you define the word Love?.............more detail

I'm a writer of romance novels and as such I'm also an incurable romantic who believes that words sometimes speak louder than action and honesty is paramount. To me, romantic love is not a fantasy but it is the responsibility of the partners to ensure that the fire burns bright. I still believe in hearts and flowers; candlelight and wine; walks in the park or along the beach; snowy nights and warm fireplaces; and "anytime" rendezvous. .............more detail

I'm soaking wet, that must have been some dream. I love the sleeping medicine the doctor gave me. Oh, I am going to be late on my first day in Paris! The bus is leaving in 20 minutes, so I need to shower quickly. I can't get this image of a young man out of my head. He is fine as golden wine. His skin is a dark cherry wine that glows. He has hazel eyes that mesmerize every time you look in them. How do I know him? Was he in my dream? I can picture large mounds called biceps, and those triceps glisten with every move he makes. .............more detail

Commitment is one of those qualities that everyone seems to think he or she can define, until he or she is asked to define it. Recognizing committed couples is easier than describing one. One’s actions demonstrate commitment rather than their words.

Nephrologist Martin Pollak and his team found that a common genetic mutation of the APOL1 gene might be partly responsible for African Americans' susceptibility.
The mutation likely arose due to natural selection because it protects against African sleeping sickness, Pollak wrote. Yet it also makes African Americans more vulnerable to kidney disease, according to the study released last month in the online issue of Science Magazine.
